How we research, write, check and update our articles.
Who writes our articles
Every article names the people who wrote it. If someone else reviewed or fact-checked it, the article names them too. Each name links to an author page with the person’s role, background and the other articles they’ve written.
Our authors write from their own work in marketing and hospitality, and with the businesses that use mDOS.
How we research and choose sources
When an article gives a figure, a price or a claim about another company, we link to where it came from or say what it’s based on. We prefer the original source, such as official statistics, a company’s own published figures or a product’s own pricing page, over articles that repeat it.
Where a figure is an estimate or a worked example rather than a measured result, we say so. Our statement of claims explains how to read the illustrative figures on this website.
Fact-checking
Before an article is published, its author checks its facts and figures against their sources. Some articles are also checked by a second person, and the article then names them:
- Reviewed by names someone who read the article for accuracy before it was published.
- Fact-checked by names someone who checked its facts and figures against the sources.
If an article shows neither, its author checked it.
How we use AI
We use AI tools to help with research, outlines and first drafts. An article drafted with AI assistance is written and checked by the people named on it, and they’re responsible for every word.
Nothing is published without a person’s approval. We don’t use AI to make up quotes, sources, figures or people.
Updates and corrections
We update an article when something important changes, such as a price, a rule or how a product works. When we make a meaningful change, the article shows an “Updated” date next to the date it was first published. Small fixes, like a typo, don’t change that date.
If you spot a mistake, email office@mr-digital.co.uk with the article’s link and what’s wrong. We’ll look into it, and if we got it wrong, we’ll correct the article.
Independence
mDOS is our own product, and some of our articles are about it. We’d rather you knew that up front.
When an article compares mDOS with another product, the comparison is sourced and dated, and it says where the other product is stronger.
